Exploring the Inner Community,
5-7 September, Near Totnes, Devon,UK
The Inner Community is a term coined by Bill to describe the fact that different parts of the body have their own intelligence and can act independently to maintain inner harmony. It is an extension of the idea of sub-personalities, as explored by the Internal Family Systems model, to include intelligent parts of us that are not easily accessed through introspection. These aspects of the self are more related to the body than the verbal mind and we shall use movement, touch, voicework and drama to bring them into consciousness.
This gives us access to a realm of inner resources, which empower us to make decisions that take care of our whole being. Without this awareness, we often harm ourselves. The workshop should help you become more autonomous and liberate yourself from dependence on outside authority to know what to do.
Residential Retreat on the Development of the Inner Community,
October 5-10, Near Glastonbury, Somerset, UK
This retreat is a deep dive into self-exploration using Movement Shiatsu, Inner Qigong, Wolfson Voicework, Drama processes and Breathwork. You will learn (and experience) how the Qi of the meridians guide the stages of human development – all the way from how infants learn to move to the process of ego-integration in later life. Each stage of life initiates the development of capacities which bring our full potential to fruition and also foster good relationships with others.
Many problems arise because we are stuck in a past stage of development. Movement Shiatsu gives specific tools for helping people to learn the lessons of different life-phases by relating psychosocial challenges to the development of physical capacities. If you are a therapist, this course will also show how to use the techniques and processes of Movement Shiatsu within your own style of work.
