Two unique workshops in Melbourne, Australia with Bill Palmer and Teresa Hadland. Possibly the last time they will teach in Australia. These workshops will present the essence of Movement Shiatsu. Everyone is welcome. No need for knowledge of Shiatsu or Chinese Medicine. The methods and techniques can be used in any form of body therapy and give a way of empowering the client to activate their life-functions and listen to the wisdom of their body.

Meridians and Movement 21-23 Feb 2025 (More Info and Booking)

This workshop will show how to work with the Qi of meridians through guided movement and quality of touch. Chronic issues and trauma are best treated when the client is an active participant in the therapy so that they can integrate the issue rather than trying to eliminate it. Working with movement helps them to feel in charge, gives them tools to take away into their normal life and supports their natural development.

The course is suitable for people at all levels of experience. It is based on Bill Palmer’s 15 years of research into infant movement, which established a precise link between developmental movements and meridians. This connection between meridians and development continues in later life and corresponds closely to the stages of life defined by Erik Erikson. So this work can help someone move on from a stage where they are stuck into another chapter of their life.

We will:

  • Show how Movement Shiatsu empowers people to become active in their development.
  • Show how to help clients process and resolve emotional difficulties and trauma through somatic exploration.
  • Show how, through exploring movement,  clients can develop a personal practice which deepens and solidifies the energetic work of the session in their daily life.
  • Explain how movement development forms the foundation for personality and how movement exploration can transform neurotic patterns.
  • Explain how to recognise stages of development in an individual that have been blocked and how to help them move on.

Destiny & Choice: Feb 28-March 2 (More Info and Booking)

Some problems don’t seem to go away because they come from a basic internal conflict. The person is stuck in a position of fighting with their true nature. The problems often emerge in relationships, in emotional patterns and in physical vulnerabilities.

In Chinese medicine, these issues can be seen as a manifestation of what is called the Ming. This it can be seen as describing the agenda of your life rather than a fixed fate. Instead of trying to ‘cure’ these core problems we can learn how to reframe them into opportunities for development of the true self.

Movement Shiatsu can give practical ways of doing this. We will show how to transform the state of the client from being a victim into an active explorer, taking charge of their life and  using their condition as a resource to fulfil their potential.

This course looks at how these core problems can be seen as interruptions to natural life processes and how we can use the body to transform them into life lessons. The course will:

  1. Show how to work with emotional patterns through movement and touch
  2. Introduce the types of interruptions to processes and how to liberate them.
  3. Learn experiments, qigong and explorations to give a client so that they can develop resources for meeting the challenges of their life.
