Monday 31st March – Yang Ming and Tai Yin
The Yang Ming Qigong is concerned with developing clear boundaries while the Tai Yin facilitates the expansive energy of the body. When both work together, the boundary of our personal space is a continuation of the physical expansion, so is a soft but strong force field rather than a hard but empty barrier. This creates a sense of trust and of autonomy which are the first two stages of Erik Eriksson’s “Stages of Life”.

Tuesday 1st April – Shao Yin and Tai Yang
The Shao Yin represents the upsurging of unconscious primal energy (Kidney Qi) into consciousness (Heart) and so is the consciousness of our spirit. The Tai Yang movements practice the continuation of this internal energy into an outer action which is aligned with the spirit. In particular, the Small Intestine discriminates between outer pressures which are consistent with the internal spirit (and so can be accepted and assimilated) and those which are toxic and squash the spirit (Which should be warded off and passed on to the Large Intestine to be expelled.)

Wednesday 2nd April – Jue Yin
The Jue Yin embraces and values all the different aspects of the self. The Qi Gong uses breathing from the centre and consciousness of Fascia and the elastic tone of muscles to connect the limbs to the Solar Plexus centre, ending up with the Starfish. Awareness of the fascia also allows each part to feel that it can move and be heard and collaborate with other parts, resulting in an Inner Community where every part is empowered. This culminates in the Seaweed Qigong.

Thursday 3rd April – Shao Yang Qigong
The Shao Yang Qigong is concerned with integrating different movements into one graceful sequence. This relates to the stage of life where you can see all the different people you are and have been and start the process of ego-integration. This needs the capacities of compassion and conflict-resolution.

Friday 4th April – Integrating the Qigong
The final stages of life are concerned with Integrating the Ego and realising the lessons learned through this life. Seeing life as a course has a profound effect, which is to reframe problems as opportunities for listening and learning rather than trying to eliminate the issue. Although there may be many aspects of earlier life that might be regretted, the development of compassion for those inner parts leads to the ability to have compassion for others and to find those parts of oneself which ARE those others. This leads to a state of being where I see everyone as being a manifestation of universal consciousness learning, playing and developing.
